Winter weddings have a magic of their own. Candlelight, evergreen, velvet and snow set a mood that no other season can match, and your stationery is the first place guests feel it. Here are our favorite ways to bring winter into your invitations.
1. Soft whites and neutrals
If you want winter without Christmas, start with a quiet palette of white, taupe and soft gold. White florals and delicate greenery feel seasonal but timeless. Our Winter Wonderland White Floral suite is a good example, and it pairs with almost any flower and table color.
2. Moody black and white
Black backgrounds with white illustrations feel dramatic and romantic, like candlelight in a snowy forest. Deer, wreaths, pinecones and stars all look striking in this style. The Gothic Christmas Black & White collection is perfect for an evening wedding at a historic venue.
3. Dusty and icy blues
Dusty blue is calm and frosty, and it looks beautiful with silver details and white flowers. It is a lovely choice if your bridesmaids are wearing blue. Try our Festive Iced Blue Christmas suite or the darker, more enchanted Iced Blue Christmas Gothic collection.
4. Rich jewel tones
Burgundy and emerald feel luxurious and warm. They suit candlelit receptions, velvet table linens and gold flatware. The Festive Burgundy and Festive Green collections both bring color without losing elegance.
5. Classic red and green
For a true Christmas wedding, nothing beats tradition. Red poinsettias, winter pine and a bow wreath on a crisp white background feel joyful and festive. See our Christmas Red & Green collection.
6. Snowy landscapes
Mountains, pines and woodland scenes are perfect for lodge, cabin and ski resort weddings. Watercolor gives a soft, painted feel, while photography feels cinematic and moody.

Timing tips for winter weddings
December is one of the busiest months of the year for your guests. Mail save the dates a little earlier than usual, ideally eight months ahead, and invitations about eight weeks before. Ask for RSVPs before Thanksgiving if your wedding falls near Christmas.
For January and February weddings, send save the dates before the holidays so your date lands on calendars before the new year. Our Winter Wonderland Script collection is designed for these post-holiday winter weddings.
Carry the look into the room
Use the same design on your welcome sign, table numbers, menus and favor tags. When guests see your invitation design again at the reception, the whole day feels thoughtful and complete.
